California programs

What California fleets should know before they build.

  • Closed to new sites

    SCE Charge Ready Transport

SCE's medium- and heavy-duty make-ready program is no longer accepting applications. Existing participants have until December 31, 2026 to finalize agreements.

With CaaS: New SCE-territory fleets in Orange County and LA County cities have no utility-funded make-ready path to wait for. CaaS delivers charging without one.

  • Closed to new sites

    PG&E EV Fleet

PG&E closed the EV Fleet application window on June 30, 2026 after exceeding its vehicle and site targets.

With CaaS: Bay Area fleets that missed the window can run on mobile CaaS while they plan a permanent site through other channels.

  • Open

SDG&E Power Your Drive for Fleets

Open to Class 2–8 fleets in SDG&E territory that commit to at least two EVs, with SDG&E-owned or customer-owned infrastructure options.

With CaaS: The program asks for long-term commitments at one property. CaaS covers sites you lease short-term or vehicles that arrive before the build finishes.

  • Open

    LADWP Commercial EV Charger Rebate

LADWP lists $20 million in DC fast charger rebate funds pending release for July 2026 to June 2027.

With CaaS: Rebates offset equipment you buy. With CaaS there's no equipment purchase, so you skip the rebate paperwork entirely.

  • Changed

    Advanced Clean Fleets (private fleets)

CARB's High Priority and Drayage Fleet requirements under ACF were repealed, effective September 10, 2026.

With CaaS: Without a mandate deadline, flexibility matters. CaaS has no stranded equipment if your electrification pace changes.

FAQ

California Charging-as-a-Service questions.

Where is Charging-as-a-Service available in California?

Los Angeles, Orange County, San Francisco, San Jose, San Diego. Each city page lists the ZIP codes we cover. 147 ZIP codes in total across Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego and the Bay Area.

Which utilities serve these California sites?

Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP); Southern California Edison (SCE); PG&E; San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E). CaaS works the same in every territory because the blocks connect to the service you have, or run without one.

Is Charging-as-a-Service cheaper than building chargers in California?

It depends on fleet size, daily energy and how long you'll stay at the site. CaaS removes the upfront equipment and construction cost and turns charging into a per-kWh or per-dispenser rate. The Site Power Plan shows both paths for your address.

What happens to CaaS if we later build a permanent depot?

Exit and relocation terms are set in your agreement. Most fleets keep running on CaaS until the permanent site is energized, then the blocks move or stay as backup.
